Doria Protective Services, Inc. (DPS) in tandem with the Guardian Angels provided security services for a Puerto Rican affair held last 15 August 2009 at Vacaville, California.
While about a thousand frolickers enjoyed the festive atmosphere, DPS, Northern California’s premier total security services provider, and the Guardian Angels, a non-profit security provider which offers free security services worldwide, worked behind the scenes to ensure that peace and order were maintained throughout the duration of the affair.
Teaming up with the Guardian Angels, DPS not only believes in the just cause of providing security services at minimal costs just as the Guardian Angels adheres to but also subscribes to the paramount importance of providing security work for today’s recession-stricken world.
With the recession striking not only California but the whole world, unemployment rate increased world-wide and with people having no jobs, the indigents resorted to crime just to put food on the table.
In Vallejo, where the headquarters of DPS is located and a city on the verge of bankruptcy, numerous police officers resigned from their jobs to seek greener pastures elsewhere or were laid-off forcing the police forces in the area to decrease their effectiveness in securing the Vallejo community. This prompted criminals to head towards Vallejo to proliferate their egregious activities against person and property.
Though violent crimes such as homicide, aggravated assault and rape declined across the state specifically Solano County, property crimes such as burglary and car theft edged up, officials of the State Department said.
Official statistics show that Vallejo's property crime levels tend to be higher than California's average level. The same data show violent crime levels in Vallejo tend to be higher than California's average level.
